FRHF-505 FIRE RESISTANT HYDRAULIC FLUID

Product Description

FRHF-505 is a water solution of glycol and combination of different additive package. It contains anti-wear agents and rust inhibitors designed to make it suitable for use in a wide variety of hydraulic systems. In accordance with ISO, it is classified as HFC type of hydraulic fluid.

Unlike the oil-in water and the water in oil emulsions, water glycol fluids are true solutions comprised of normally 35 to 45% water blended into selected poly glycols with additional additives and inhibitors. Their fire-resistant properties are excellent, again being derived from the high-water content. They have good viscosity temperature characteristics and can be used at much lower temperatures than invert emulsions. Upper temperature limitations, however, are similar to those for invert emulsions and, depending on the fluid manufacture, this upper temperature can range from about 50⁰C to >70⁰C. This range of polyol ester fire resistant hydraulic fluids (ISO 6743-4 HFDU type) are ideal for applications requiring a high degree of lubricity and fire resistance. FRHF-505 FM are FM Global 6930 approved (FM Standard 6930 Jan 2002 Group 1) products and are outstanding in their category in providing a safe working environment and improved system reliability. Formulated to work in high pressure hydraulic systems up to 7,500 psi, FRHF-505 provides all types of hydraulic pumps with protection against wear equivalent to that of mineral oils.

Applications and Benefits

Hydraulic equipment’s operated at or near a source of ignition is a potential fire hazard if hydraulic fluid leaks from the system. A fine mist or spray of hydraulic fluid can readily catch fire should it contact an ignition source. Metal die casting equipment, furnace and oven doors, welding machines, molten metal handling devices, hot strip mills, slag granulators and hot metal presses are examples of operation that may require the use of FRHF-505 for safety reasons. This product also offers good rust protection. The water content of this fluid must be maintained during use to ensure the designed degree of fire resistance and proper viscosity.

  •         Protection against rust, corrosion and wear.
  •         Excellent heat dissipation characteristics.
  •         Protection against low temperature freezing.
  •         Boost productivity.
  •         Reduce overall consumption and waste.

  •         Fire resistance for improved safe.
